"Breaking the law, breaking the lawBreaking the law, breaking the lawBreaking the law, breaking the lawBreaking the law, breaking the law"
I'm an outlaw. It was a beautiful, full moon evening and I was driving along a long, lazy country lane. You know the type of country road---with cottonwoods, the occasional tumbleweed, and jack rabbit or road runner. The smell of alfalfa filtered in through my nostrils and the music blared as I hit a cruising speed of 50mph. Apparently, going twice the speed limit is bad. I realized this as the photo flash went off on the Sheriff's speed radar van! I was astonished and taken aback! When was the last time I was CAUGHT speeding?
Cue "Wayne's World" theme music:
1991
I was about 18-years-old and I was driving the best car ever: my 1976 5-speed Toyota Celica GT coupe! It was my first car and what a blast to learn how to drive a 5-speed,stick shift while all the other powder puff girls were driving their mom's automatics. I loved that baby and I'm surprised I didn't name it and/or have some sad eulogy when we sold 'er for parts! I was going about 75/80mph on the freeway back when 55mph was the standard. I was about to make it to my exit--Scott-free, then I saw the lights. The Highway Patrol pulled me over. I started to cry, not because I was trying to use my feminine wiles (I was only 18) or because I was scared, but because I knew my parents would be pissed! It almost worked on the soft/cute officer, but he decided to teach me a lesson and give me a ticket. He had seen way too many accidents---yada yada yada! I was astonished and taken aback at that moment too because not unlike Michael Vick,Nicole Ritchie, insert random celebrity name here I had some immunity because of my links to the police force. Having an officer related to you is like a "get out o' jail" free card and a blessing for an adolescent with a license. There were a few times previous to the highway incident, when I was let go with a gentle chiding (I don't know if that is a word---but it works).
I broke the law two other times today too: I blew off jury duty (that's right I could potentially be federal jail bait if I were still 18) AND I parked in a space that was clearly labeled for "small or electric cars only"!
If I can't have my Mercedes SL550, or a 350Z, I would love to have a sporty little Celica GT again!

i had a '72 mustang 302 from age 17 to 21. I still remember the night i was about 3 sheets to the wind and blew through town at 110mph in a 35 zone. I think that would have been a life sentence or make me wish it was, had i been caught.
Yeh i miss that car!
What color was it (the Mustang)?
blue, originally light blue, later had it repainted a dark metallic blue which i regretted.
Hey Cowgirl, How is it "incredulous that a male in the year 2007" has managed to miss a donkey show? That is not to say I have lived in a box. I have seen and enjoyed plenty of porn. Some how a women and a donkey does not do much for me. Maybe a guy hung like a donkey, now that is a differnt story.
whoa is that the infamous Jimbo of superficial fame?
Yes it is me. Is that OK?
Oh and my first car was 1974 ford Courier. That little 4 banger would burn rubber. I never had the problem of doing 110 mph in a 35 zone
pOnk-- You regretted the metallic? I like the sheen of metallic.I kinda want a metallic red pimp- like convertable with white seats? Jimbo--I like your sign pisces! LOL. I'm sorry about the donkey comment, I assumed you were a straight guy. Does that make me a biggot? My bad. THAT explains Texas Tranny though? So are you bi too?
No that was a joke. I am straight. I don't have a problem with gays, but I much prefer a females body to a males.
jimbo--So did I hit the nail on the head with TT? What about FRIST and Victor? Or am I way off?
Your first car was a truck? That is pretty sweet. Was it "tricked" out? I had a shitty little Mazda after the Celica. I'm proud to say I've never owned an automatic and hopefully never will (have to drive automatics at car rental places though).
I don’t know TT very well but from the comments I have seen from him, he swings both ways. I don’t think he care what it is as long as it feels good. FRIST is straight as far as I know. She is very sweet and I think has a boy friend. Victor or Mike will hump your leg if you turn your back on him. I thought you were e-mailing him? He is a straight horn dog always on the hunt. Veggi is also straight and seem to like males very much. I take it from your profile you are straight? And like the fuzzy males?
My truck was like your Celica. All I use to own were sticks, but they are hard to find down here and they are a pain in the ass to drive on the freeway. I pass more people on my way to work than you have in the entire state of Montana. I still have a truck, but it is an automatic and it has a Hemi!!!
jimbo, it's nice to be able to chat with some of you funny fuckers without all of the trolling that goes on over at the fish.
after i blew up my mustang i had the little pickup - mazda, which as you probably know, in the early 70's was the same thing as the Courier - lord what a POS that was. going from the 302ci to a 1600cc caused some serious withdrawals.
I am glad to know you think I am a funny fucker:) Do you live up in Northern California? I am down south with all of the crazy assholes. Britney is only about 30 minutes from me.
i'm about 5 hours north of SF on the 101. I was down in Ventura 4th of july week. So Cal - you can have it.
Isn't 4 hours north of SF somewhere around the Eurkea area? I have relatives up there. I was in Ventura the week after the 4th. camping at the beach.
Jimbo--I figured TT was bi-everything or at least his online persona is. Victor is a horny, horny guy and he tried to email me, but he moved on quickly without a naked pic. It was like high school all over again!LOL!
I'm straight and I do like fuzzy men, hairless boy-like frames are icky.
pOnk--You had a mazda too? Mine was destroyed when I was rear-ended on a freeway exit (I emerged unscathed thankfully--just spilled my popcorn)!
We visit S.CA occasionally and I've traveled solo for business.
Cowgirl - You would think by now Mike would have figured out that females are not going to send him naked pictures 10 minutes after they meet. I normally wait a day or two before I ask for them.
I have been to Montana once. I drove out the north exit of Yellow Stone and saw that there was nothing there and drove back into the park. More than likly I will be back there again right after Christmas. I would like to see the park in the snow.
p0nk after I posted my last reply, I saw you said 5 hours and not 4. That should put you square in the middle of Eureka with all of the lumber jacks and pot heads. I love the flea market in the Arcada square on the weekends. It is like you walked into a time warp back to the 60's
Jimbo, you nailed it. I live in Fortuna, about 20 minutes south of Eureka and work at the community college just south of Eureka.
You are familiar with Arcata, you'll be happy to know it hasn't changed and they still patiently wait for the 2nd coming of Jerry Garcia.
Wow we just missed at Ventura, we were staying at the Crowne Royal Plaza right on the beach there and didn't leave until the 8th. I couldn't get my kids out of the ocean even though there were some ugly cold days that week.
p0nk,
We were camping at McGrath State beach just down the street from the Crowne Royal Plaza.
That is pretty funny you living in Fortuna. My Brother and sister in-law now live there. They owned a house in Eureka and sold it about a year ago. They are getting ready to retire from SBC and moving to Colorado. Now they are living in their 5th wheel at some RV park there. We use to go up there on Memorial weekend and watch the races. That is always fun. I also like going to the little town where they filmed the Majestic. I love the old Victorian houses
i remember driving past McGrath on our way to Denny's for the occasional breakfast.
The Majestic was filmed in Ferndale, just across the river from us. They also hosted Outbreak w/ Dustin Hoffman a few years ago (my wife's bathrobe made a cameo appearance in that one).
There are a couple of RV parks here, hopefully they're staying at the more upscale one by the river and not the one downtown behind the mexican restaraunt.
Small world.
p0nk
I knew the city started with an F, but I could not think of it. They are in the RV park by the river. I know there is river in the name of the park. At least that is what shows up on my phone when they call.
I have seen the JC you work at. It is right off the highway? I think my brother in-law took a wook working class there. It looks like a nice campus. How long have you lived up there? Have you got island fever yet? I like to visit up there, but I would go nuts in a month or two.
Jimbo--We've camped on the beach by Monterey and Point Lobos. Beautiful scenery. Do they have a lot of agriculture up by SF too? We woke to strawberry pickers in the fields, but you can't beat the sweetness of strawberries freshly picked. What do you mean by "island fever"?
Cowgirl,
There is tons of agriculture in California. North of SF is all of the wine country. 100's of wineries. If you go inland, there is the central valley with miles and miles of farms. Just south of SF is the Silicon Valley where the grow lots of computer geeks. Little nerdy bastards driving around in their expensive sports cars.
I love camping up by Monterey. Just south of there is Big Sur.
Even though Eureka is in California, there is nothing else around them for a couple of hours by car. It is kind of like being on an island up there. Eureka is also trying to keep their small town environment. They will not let Home Depot build up there. They just got their first Target a few years ago. Most of the big chain restaurants are not their.
Cowgirl,
It is a fine line. I grew up in Chino and there was only about 4000 people living there. There were more cows and horse than people. Now you can't tell here one city ends and the next one starts. I am really tired of it here. There are other problems here to that make me want to move out. I have an office in Boulder CO that I go to from time to time. I would love to move there. Just far enough out that I can have my space, but close enough to drive into the city when I want to do something. There are a lot of great things about So Cal, but it is just getting out of hand here.
yes up in this part of california we are very isolated. what you call the 'island' we call the "redwood curtain".
as for agriculture, the wineries stop about midway between us and SF. Biggest agriculture, biggest industry, here by far is sinsemilla, especially now that lumber and fishing have fallen.
I've lived up here all my life and have no intention of leaving. I can't stand the crowds and busy-ness of the cities.
the JC is indeed right off the highway - College of the Redwoods
